In Nepal, various types of steel are widely used across industries: Carbon steel, alloy steel with enhanced mechanical properties, stainless steel for corrosion resistance, tool steel for cutting tools, structural steel in construction, reinforcement steel (rebar) for concrete strength, and galvanized steel for corrosion protection in outdoor applications:

1.Carbon Steel

   - Basic steel made of iron and up to 2.1% carbon.

   - Often includes small amounts of manganese.

   - Used in general construction, machinery, and automotive industries.

2.Alloy Steel

   - Includes additional elements like chromium, nickel, and molybdenum.

   - Offers improved strength, hardness, and resistance to wear and corrosion.

   - Used in engineering applications, such as gears, shafts, and tools.

3.Stainless Steel

   - Contains chromium and sometimes nickel for corrosion resistance.

   - Doesn't rust easily, making it ideal for kitchen utensils, surgical instruments, and architectural applications.

4.Tool Steel

   - Designed for making tools due to its hardness and ability to hold a cutting edge.

   - Used for manufacturing cutting tools, dies, and molds in industries like manufacturing and construction.

5.Structural Steel

   - Used in buildings and bridges for its strength and ability to bear loads.

   - Comes in various shapes like beams, channels, and angles, regulated by standards for construction safety and reliability.

6.Reinforcement Steel (Rebar)

   - Strengthening steel used in concrete structures like buildings and bridges.

   - Features ribs or indentations to grip concrete tightly, enhancing structural integrity and durability.

7.Galvanized Steel

   - Steel coated with zinc to prevent rust and corrosion.

   - Widely used in outdoor structures, fencing, and roofing due to its durability and cost-effectiveness compared to stainless steel.

Each type of steel serves specific purposes in various industries, contributing to the infrastructure and development of Nepal's economy and infrastructure.
